g. The Tribal Isles
Well, we’ve traveled on the boat for a while, and it’s about time to make port! I hope you’re ready for an adventure and a half, because this next stop is tons of fun and a little bit complicated. That’s what guides are for, though!
Before you leave for the islands, I have some recommendations for you
- If you somehow managed to skip out on Furoma and not get the Ambush trap, get it now.
- Grab a harpoon or a net cannon now- you can’t afford to not have it anymore
- Consider buying a Digby Drillbot. You might have bought it for the Hydra, and well- definitely want it now. Partybot users can ignore this for now, although you will most likely be buying it eventually anyway.
Good? Great!
THE TRIBAL ISLES

Pretty, no? I hope you’re ready to have fun- TONS of new mice with some truly awesome designs AND it’s for high-levels. We haven’t been this giddy since Furoma. Well, I haven’t been anyway.
Our first stop is the only civilization on this island- what better place to start?
Cape Clawed
As you can see, there’s a question about cheese (surprise, surprise). Go into the cheese shop and purchase a couple hundred pieces of Gouda cheese.
I know, it’s pricey at 600 gold apiece, but remember how bad brie was on the SS Huntington II? No reason to suspect otherwise here, wouldn’t you agree?
There are also blueprints for some new traps- the Ancient Spear Launcher, the Thorned Mouse Trap, and the Rhinobot. You’ll purchase these later- for now, don’t worry about them.
Now, from here you have a few options:
- You can hunt here at Cape Clawed and just take in the scenery. Mice here are weak and aren’t worth many points or gold. Basically a great place to just catch things. There are also several mice that drop loot here, which is good for loot-gathering hunters.
If you decide to stay here, you can use brie cheese instead. - Head to the Elub Shore- this is where the hydro mice reside. The point totals are highest here.
- Head to the Derr Dunes- the home of the physical mice. The gold total is highest here.
- Head to the Nerg Plains- the tactical mice live here. Gold and points are high, but not as high as the other two places.
If you head to one of the three other places, you’ll find yourself ONLY facing mice of that trap type, and using any other trap will prove futile (and frankly you’d be stupid not to use the right one). No partybots (except in the Derr Dunes), no ACRoNYMs. The upside is that you’ll collect that certain loot faster than if you sat in Cape Clawed.
Given the fact that all three areas can happen in virtually any order without penalty, I’ve constructed three pages- one for each of the sections.
So which one do you visit first?
- For the legendary or hero hunter who doesn’t have a lot of gold (this is most likely your situation), head to the Nerg Plains. There’s a very high points reward here AND there’s plenty of gold for you to accumulate. Since you’ll be needing both, why not go after both?
- For legendary and hero hunters who have lots of gold, go to the Elub Shore- points are the most crucial part of your hunting right now, and you will gain points incredibly fast here.
- If you’re a knight, go to the Derr Dunes- the best trap is obtained here; why not get it now?

Once you’ve visited all of these areas and have some red, blue and yellow pepper seeds, we can continue to the Jungle of Dread!
